The highly anticipated ‘Friends Theatre’ was opened earlier this year after an extensive renovation of what was the school’s ICT suite.

The school now hopes to develop a primary drama curriculum that will enable pupils to excel at secondary school and build their confidence to participate in local amateur productions. Recently, the school’s curriculum – known as the ‘Whittlesey Primary Curriculum’ – was identified as being ‘exceptionally strong’ at a recent Ofsted inspection. Written by teachers at Park Lane and New Road Schools, the next step is to integrate the performing arts right into the heart of its excellent curriculum offer.
