Meet Our Governors

Lorraine Chaundy - Chair of governors

sally collier - vice chair of governors

I have been a governor at Park lane Nursery and Primary School since 1995 and over this time I have seen a huge change in this role. During this time I was Chair of Governors for over eight years. I have been involved in a wide range of activities from performance management, staff appointments and many governor visits. These visits have been of a huge variety including sports day, drama productions, residential trips and safeguarding.

As a governor I believe that we should ensure that the school continues to improve and raise standards so that each individual child receives the best education possible. My particular interests are in Safeguarding, teaching and learning, leadership and governance and attendance and Pupil Premium.

My background is in education. I qualified as a teacher many years ago and over this time have worked in a variety of roles. My last position was as advisory teacher for Children in Care. I retired in June 2011 but since I have worked part time with a fostering agency both supporting foster carers and tutoring children and young people.

Coral Cornell - community governor

Having been a teacher at Park Lane I have recently retired and am delighted to now be a community governor following on from several years as a staff governor. I hope that my many years in education places me well to be critical friend to the senior leadership of the school. I always put the well being of the children first. I know Park Lane to be a happy and successful school and hope that in some small way I will be able to help the school grow and develop in the coming years.

Community Governor

Lisa Randle - parent governor

I have spent many years in Human Resources within the private sector assisting businesses in their journey to achieve business objectives. My experience includes both generalist and strategic HR such as performance development, recruitment, equal opportunities, business reorganisations and enhancing employee communication and engagement.

As a parent of two children at Park Lane Primary school, I am very passionate about supporting the school to continue to raise standards and provide the best education for every child giving them the opportunity to thrive as individuals in a safe, friendly, encouraging, inclusive environment recognising the importance of the well-being of all children.

Having taken a career break, I am very keen to give my time to help the school continuously strive to be the best they can be and make a positive difference through supporting the school in an impartial, inclusive, professional and committed way, observing, sharing, challenging and contributing ideas.

My particular interests include curriculum and subject leadership, the welfare and behaviour of the children, attendance and the teaching and learning experience.

My personal interests are cycling, pilates and spending time with my family.

Parent Governor

Dave Stone - parent governor

I’ve worked as a professional environmental scientist in the public sector for 30 years.

I originally trained as an ecologist but would describe myself today as a multidisciplinary environmentalist having developed expertise in public health, aspects of social science and economics.

So why have I become a governor? My education made a tremendous difference to my life enabling me to pursue a professional career. I have a firmly held belief that every child should experience a nurturing school environment that enables and supports them to be the best that they can be. Given my profession I inevitably have a keen interest in the teaching of STEM subjects.

My family and I have lived in Whittlesey since 2018. As a parent of two children at the school I look forward to supporting the staff, the pupils and the school.

Parent Governor

Helen Grainger - staff governor

I qualified as a primary school teacher in 2003. Since then, I’ve worked in numerous schools in

Peterborough. I also spent 7 years teaching in Italy, Russia and Germany, which was enormously challenging but rewarding.

I started teaching at Park Lane in 2015 and have taught children in Years 3 and 4. Since I started working here, I’ve seen many positive changes at Park Lane. In my role as staff governor, I want to make a valuable

impact. I want to ensure that the school continues to raise standards and every child enjoys their time here. Outside school, I enjoy spending time with my family and baking.
